Who's the session for?

Anyone who:
• Wants to feel more optimistic
• Wants to be more resilient and equipped to deal with the stresses of life
• Wants to learn practical tools to live a happier life

Aims / Benefits / Takeaways

In your coaching session you will:
• Learn how to recognize when things are out of kilter for you
• Explore what resilient characteristics you may already have
• Take away 5 practical positive psychology exercises to build into your everyday life

What is emotional resilience? We begin by exploring what emotional resilience actually means and what natural and learned characteristics make us resilient. The great news is that, even if you’re not naturally resilient, resilience can be learned.
• Why do we need it? We then look at why we need to have good emotional resilience in this current age. We explore what sort of things can make us feel stressed and how having good emotional resilience can actually help to inoculate us against stress. We learn how to recognise when things are out of kilter for us – what our own personal warning signs are. These can be physical, mental and emotional. We can only begin to do something about stress when we recognise it. We don’t want to wait until we fall over to take action, we need to recognise it as early as possible.
• What is Positive Psychology? One of the key characteristics of good emotional resilience is realistic optimism. I share some neuroscientific research that has shown what we can do to improve our levels of optimism.
• How can Positive Psychology help us? We explore the positive results of adopting good habits – how it can really affect our overall mood as well as our physical and mental health.
• Positive psychology – 5 transforming habits – we explore how adopting 5 daily habits can completely change our outlook. This can take as little as 30 minutes a day for 6 weeks.
